Locations in Southampton

Throughout my course there are a number of different locations in Southampton which I may need to visit throughout year such as West Quay, the mayflower Theatre and Southampton Art Gallery.
I worked In a small group with Charlotte and Tonia in order to find West Quay shopping centre. West Quay was generally quite easy to find due to the shopping centre being located in the centre of Southampton town.

Hero products
I researched a number of different companies best selling products  such as smash box, benefit, Bobby Brown , Laura Mercier and Mac by visiting the different Makeup counters around Southampton .

Mac

The red lipstick and foundation studio exploit are two of the company Mac's best selling products to all year round. The 3D dimension mascara is the company's newest product out which may become a hero product in the future.

Bobby Brown's hero product is the long wear gel eyeliner and ultra fine liner brush. Bobby Brown's top ten best selling products are the smokey eye mascara, lip colours (all shades), the correcter concealer, bronzing powder, skin foundation stick, vitamin enriched face base, pot rouge, shimmer brick and the long wear cream shadow stick.

Laura Mercier 's top three best selling products are the tinted moisturiser, primer and the camouflage concealer.

Smash box

The photo finish primer which has been on the market for 18 years with 11 different shades in total is the company Smash box's hero product.

Hot heads
Using a brown paper bag different coloured card glitter and crape paper I had to show my creative side a design a mask . I then had to take photos of myself wearing the mask at different locations round the university

Illamasqua

The makeup company Illamasqua visited the university and gave us some background information on the company and some tips to use when applying makeup during the course for example, different colour shades to use on the face in order to complement the skin such as on darker skin using colours such as reds and greens to neutralise the skin and then add warmer colours over the top and on lighter skin using pink shades.

Illamasqua then carried out a makeup tutorial  showing us the products they were using fon the face for example on the eyes they used the honour and navy eye liner pencil , the company also gave us a few tips whilst applying the products such as keep layering the colours to the skin and brush constantly once the makeup is applied to blend it into the skin.

This was the model after the Illamasqua makeup

In small groups we had to design a makeup look to pitch to the Illamasqua team
The makeup look we wanted to create was a magical pixie look and the products we used in order to achieve this was a darker foundation number 13 and a
Lighter foundation which was number 9 we used the darker foundation to highlight parts of the face, we also used other products such as a loose white powder blue lip gloss and a green eyeshadow. The pitch we used to sell are look to the Illamasqua team was 'are look is a magical pixie that turns the forests to winter '.
